Molecular biology is the study of biology at a molecular level. The field overlaps with other areas of biology and chemistry, particularly genetics and biochemistry. Molecular biology chiefly concerns itself with understanding the interactions between the various systems of a cell, including the interactions between DNA, RNA and protein biosynthesis, the transcription factor as well as learning how these interactions are regulated. It is obvious why open access and open data portals would be beneficial to the public: free information and more of it is empowering to society. Molecular Biology of HIV
The human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) is a lentivirus (a subgroup of retrovirus) that causes HIV infection and acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (aids). HIV-1 identified mainly as the primary cause of the acquired immunodeficiency syndrome.Hiv-1 is the prototypical member of the Lentivirinae subfamily of reteroviruses which mainly affects humans. The reteroviruses that are capable of replication comprises three genes-gag,pol and env where the gag and the env genes encodes the core nucleocapsid polypedpites and surface coat proteins of the virus and the pol gives rise to viral reverse transcriptase and other enzymatic activities.
